The Regulars Band is a five piece tour de force from the suburbs of Metro-Atlanta. The sound falls somewhere between The Beatles and Stevie Wonder. Many of the songs are composed as funky piano-driven rock tunes while others tend to have a more introspective singer-songwriter appeal. Viva Variety! The Regulars are: brother and sister Lee (keys/vocals) and Lindsey Smith (Vocals), guitarist Robbie Croy, bassist Clay Davis, and Drummer Jacob Irvin. For more info on each member please click the link to the left! The Band came together in 2005 to perform in a local high school talent show. After defeating friend and rapper Mums FP they decided to make it legit and become a ‘real band.’ Lee started writing songs and the band started playing local gigs. The group gained an intense amount of experience and skill in the following years by playing tons of cover gigs, recording in a few professional studios, and practicing weekly. The irony of the name (The Regulars Band) stems from the unassuming look of the band in conjunction to the variety and skill of the group. In 2008 The Regulars added all-star bass player Clay Davis to the lineup right in time for their first big televised show, The Macy’s Lighting of the Great Tree. The Regulars opened the show for Jewel to an audience of 100,000. The show went on to be syndicated worldwide during that Christmas season. Following the success of the Macy’s Tree Lighting the band entered 2009 with a lot of momentum. The band played spots in the Lenox fourth of July festival (the biggest in the Southeast) for over 200,000 people, South Atlanta’s Relay for Life, The Atlanta Blues and Music Festival, and ended the year by opening for Morris Day and the Time at the Peach Drop for more than 200,000 people! The band officially started touring in the early spring of 2010. In the summer of 2010 drummer Jacob Irvin was added to the group. The Band has played a variety of television and radio spots including: Good Day Atlanta, CBS Better Mornings, and WKMX Dothan. The Regulars have a huge home base in Atlanta. The band frequents many famed local spots: Eddie’s Attic, Andrews Upstairs, RiRa’s Midtown among others. The band has released two EP’s independently and has sold 2,500 units to date in the Atlanta area. Their first EP was engineered by Grammy nominated Seth Firkins.
